Compass Cay

COMPASS CAY MARINA

Compass Cay Marina is the chief anchorage of Compass Cay and has a total of 14 slips (quays). These can accommodate vessels of various sizes, ranging up to 150 LOA and 8-foot draft. It’s a well-maintained anchorage with pilot services, an active dock with a bistro, and an agency that organizes swims with baby sharks.

Compass Cay Marina can get crowded during peak season but it’s the safest place to anchor at and spend quality time. However, the coolest activity worth doing here is swimming with the nurse sharks that come to sleep near the dock. These sharks swim onto the dock and you may have to move past them to reach other spots on the dock.

You may also indulge in underwater swimming, snorkeling, and exploration of caves near the marina. Fishing and heavy water sports are prohibited.

Please note that the entire dock goes underwater at high tide. You will also find bonefish along with the tamed sharks.

The marina is owned by Tucker Rolle and sits on a naturally protected harbor of the Exumas.
